Lansdowne FC held its annual Ladies charitable Lunch yesterday in the clubhouse which had over 175 guests seated for their mid afternoon event. This years chosen charity is St. Anne's Special National School in The Curragh, Co. Kildare.
St. Anne's caters for students from the age of 4 to 18 years who have been assessed with either a moderate or severe/profound general learning disability. Many of the pupils would have additional needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairment or autistic spectrum disorder. This is a charity close to the hearts of Club President Colin Goode, his wife Liz and their daughter Meghan who were all in attendance.
This topped a week of charitable donations by Lansdowne FC whose members raised over €40,000 for community based or international charities. This years charities were,
St. Anne's Special National School
Goal - Ukraine appeal
Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association
Ringsend District Response to Drugs
Well done to everybody for contributing to the days success and being so generous in raising much needed funds for these charities. Well done to Club President Colin Goode and his family and to all the club staff especially Events Manager Elayne Power for all the hard work.
