Tommorrow Saturday, 12th of February, Lansdowne play Young Munster in the Bateman Cup Final at 13:45 in Musgrave Park, Cork.

Lansdowne have a long and proud history with the Bateman Cup, winning the inaugural event 100 years ago and further titles in 1929, 1930, 1931 and 2018.

The headquarters club were also crowned joint winners with Cork Constitution in 2020, following the initial outbreak of Covid.

Young Munster’s only Bateman Cup success was back in 1928, when they beat Lansdowne 6-3 in the decider.

The Bateman Cup was presented to the IRFU by Dr. Godfrey Bateman, a member of a well-known west Cork family, in memory of his sons Reginald and Arthur who were killed during the First World War.

Its great to see former LFC Youths player JJ Hession make the team sheet tomorrow. Also our youths Coaches Corey Reid, Dan Murphy, Conan Dunne, Mark Boyle & Paddy Nixon! best of luck lads.

If you are unable to travel, the final will be streamed and we will circulate the link on Friday so keep an eye on our social media
