Last weekend was a fitting end to a strong season for all the Junior teams. We asked the teams to give us a quick recap on the various games.

On Friday 27th of April, the J3s played DLSP in the final of the Moran Cup winning 26-20. This marks the first time since 2011-12 that Lansdowne has brought the cup home.

Luc Van Caulwert, the J3 co-captain said "I couldn’t be prouder of the group after our 26–20 win over De La Salle Palmerstown in Bective. We went behind early but stayed composed and fought our way back.

With the squad stretched and lads stepping in, it was a team effort.

After the league final disappointment, this one meant everything to us. It was great to round off the season with some silverware across each of the three teams."

Next up were the J2s on Saturday playing against Wanderers in the O'Connell Cup final.

J2 Player Paul Kinney remarked "Lansdowne J2s had a seriously strong season, going unbeaten in the league with a perfect 16 from 16 and building great momentum week after week. The squad was consistent, confident, and tough to break

down all year, which made that run even more impressive. We carried that form all the way into the Albert O’Connell final, but came up just short against a strong Wanderers J1 side. Still, it doesn’t take away from what was an outstanding season

overall, defined by that unbeaten league run right up until the final hurdle."

Finally the J4s took on Bective in the O'Connor Cup and Barry Richardson, J4 Captain told us "Saturdays cup final win against Bective marked the end of the 2025/2026 season. Danny Hogan stole the limelight with the final kick of the game to

win it but it was the collective effort from the entire squad that got us to that moment. It was also a fitting send-off for Cathal McNamara, who hung up the boots after 130 appearances for the club.

It will be a tough one to top for the J4s . 16  wins from 16 competitive games played - both the league and cup won. It couldn’t have been possible without the contributions to everyone involved including the coaches, players who picked up injuries and of course Barry Lawlor!"
