A sell-out event with a vibrant, uplifting atmosphere, the annual Women of Lansdowne Lunch celebrates the role of women in Lansdowne Football Club, while raising vital funds for a very worthy cause, the Look Good Feel Better charity.
Held on 17th April in the Clubhouse, the lunch brought together members of the community, supporters, and guests for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and generosity. Attendees enjoyed a drinks reception followed by a carefully curated lunch and evening entertainment. There were some fabulous prizes up for grabs in the raffle, with prizes donated from local businesses and club members as well as our Grand Prize on the day donated by Evoke.ie, with all proceeds going to Look Good Feel Better.
This event is a very important occasion in the club calendar. It is a day to recognise the growing role of women within the rugby community, both on and off the field, and to thank the women of Lansdowne, including players, coaches, backroom staff, parents and supporters, for their commitment and contribution to the club.
Look Good Feel Better is an Irish charity, aimed to help improve the wellbeing and confidence of women and men undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. They do this through providing free Look Good Feel Better workshops and advice to help manage the visible side effects caused by cancer and its treatment. With volunteers nationwide, Look Good Feel Better relies heavily on the generosity of the cosmetics industry and all other contributors to ensure they can continue to do their invaluable work.
Elayne Power, General Manager at Lansdowne Football Club said: “We were thrilled to see such an incredible turnout and energy on the day. It was a fantastic celebration and recognition of all the work the women of Lansdowne Football Club do, from our coaches, physios, players to supporters. And it was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together to support a meaningful cause. We were delighted to support Look Good Feel Better this year, a charity that no doubt resonates will all our guests at the lunch in some way.”
Organisers have extended their thanks to all attendees, sponsors, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event. You can view the photos from the day HERE
