Lansdowne FC carried on the long tradition of welcoming touring sides to the Back Pitch at the Aviva Stadium today with the visit of Fergus Highland RFC from Ontario Canada.
The Ontarian tourists brought two sides at U16s and U18s to offer up a contest in glorious early March sunshine. The lads don't often get to play on Astro but weren't put off by the pace which Lansdowne put on show. Some magnificent skills on display by both sides which gave referee Will Keating an unexpected mid morning workout.
It turned out to be a very entertaining spectacle with tries a plenty. The boys all mixed well and exchanged shorts afterwards. More the pity really because it means the Lansdowne boys will have to finish their season with Canadian shorts!!
Thanks to Fergus Highland for such an entertaining morning and we wish you the very best of luck and enjoyment for the remainder of your tour. They go on to play Antrim Grammar School and Galwegians RFC.
