Lansdowne U13's had a convincing win at home against DLSP on Sunday in Division 1. Having lost narrowly to the same opposition earlier in the season Lansdowne knew they needed to perform to prevent a repeat. From the outset they took the game to a spirited DLSP outfit with the McHenry triplets (Danny, Eoin and Con) to the fore! Strong carries from Paddy McNamara, Michael Snodden and Donal Noone laid the platform for Paul Brennan to score the first of his two tries. Some clever kicking by out half, Max Gaynor kept DLSP on the back foot and Lansdowne led 10-0 at the break. DLSP took the game to Lansdowne in the second half but excellent defence from James Tierney, Dylan Clarke and Camryn Boyd prevented them from scoring and Zach Horgan capped off a fine individual performance with an interception to score under the posts which was converted by Max Gaynor. With five minutes remaining, the scoring was completed by full back Joey Sommerauer who beat several defenders with a darting run and sidestep to score a lovely try.
Thanks to DLSP for a very sporting match and well done to all the Lansdowne boys on a fine team performance.
