On Sunday, September 8th, Lansdowne FC proudly participated in the Women in Rugby Conference, a pivotal event focused on the advancement of women's rugby across Ireland. Representing Lansdowne were Eline Brandt and John Tobin, who attended the conference with the goal of deepening Lansdowne’s commitment to the growth and support of women’s rugby within the club and beyond.
The conference featured an impressive lineup of speakers including Kevin Potts, CEO of the IRFU, Nora Stapleton from Sports Ireland, Su Carty of the IRFU, and Emer O’Dowd, Connacht Coach & Player Development Officer. By attending sessions on player development and leadership, Lansdowne sought to learn more about how the club can best attract, nurture, and retain talented female athletes. The conference also highlighted the IRFU’s robust commitment to ensuring women’s rugby continues to flourish in Ireland.
This event marks Lansdowne's ongoing mission to create an inclusive and supportive environment for women in rugby, both on and off the pitch. The knowledge gained at the conference will be instrumental in shaping the club's strategies for future success in this area.
