The Lansdowne Under 15s got what they richly deserved last weekend in a sunny Castle Avenue when they lifted the Metro Cup having beaten rivals Malahide RFC.

The boys had a handsome lead 26-5 at half time but allowed Malahide get back into it early in the second half.  With 6 Minutes to go there was only a 2 point margin 26-24 with Malahide working very hard to reverse that deficit.   But Lansdowne played down the clock and as a result lifted the Trophy.

Our thanks to Metro Age Grade Coordinator Jim Doddy for facilitating the competition, to David Crimmins for being there on the day and to the Leinster refereeing team to ran a superb game.

Also thanks to Joe Shine and Clontarf Rugby for providing the excellent pitch and facilities.

Big shout out to our coaches, Lansdowne Players Tom Barry and Rory Boyle for all the hard work this season.  Thanks to all the dad coaches, James, Marcus, Patrick, Bobby and Steve.

Without the mums and dads, none of this would happen so many thanks for your ongoing commitment.  Thanks to the club supporters Joe Leddin and crew who travelled to Castle Ave for the game and to club photographer Michael O'Brien for taking such wonderful shots.

Thanks also to Will Keating for all his hard work with this squad as he steps down at the end of the season.
